放射線治療専門医。陽子線治療が臨床試験や先進医療として行われていた時から陽子線治療に取り組む。Ｘ線（従来の放射線療法）、重粒子線の経験も豊富な放射線治療の第一人者。
略歴
1981年三重大学医学部卒業。医学博士。
愛知県がんセンター副院長を経て、民間初の陽子線治療施設である南東北がん陽子線治療センター長に就任。兵庫県立粒子線医療センター院長（２０１２年）、伊勢赤十字病院放射線治療科部長（２０１５年）を歴任し、２０２１年より現職。
